How and why Mackie Designs came about has a direct bearing on why our products are designed and built the way they are. Combining pro quality with amazingly reasonable pricing, Mackie has many "standards" in the pro audio realm including the SRM series active loudspeakers, the Onyx and PPM Series Mixers, and Onyx Series recording interfaces. The short story is: They're definitely not your average pro audio company. Mackie has a president who obsessively collects old Hammond organs and Leslie speakers. A four-pound Corporate Chihuahua roams the halls during business hours (she frequently gets lost and has to start over). They have so many employees who play in bands that thier employee roster looks like a "white pages" of the current Seattle-area rock scene. Even more unusual is the fact that real people answer the phone when you call them. No "Dial 1 if you have a touch-tone phone" messages. No eternities listening to on-hold music when you have a question or problem. Greg Mackie believes that our obligation to our customers extends far past the point of sale.
